SPOTIFY: DOES NO MORE LIMITS MEAN LESS REASONS TO SUBSCRIBE?
It’s been announced by Spotify that users who don’t pay a fee can now listen to their playlists on mobile devices and play unlimited music on computers. Mobile listening and unlimited streaming are both things which were previously used as carrots to encourage those same users to upgrade to the company’s premium, paid-for services.
Question is, then, will some of Spotify’s much-cherished subscribers now consider trading back down to the free service? If you can listen for free to as much music as you want, on any device - albeit with ads and without the option of downloading for offline listening - then the £9.99 a month premium fee perhaps doesn’t seem quite such an attractive deal. Great point. I need to revisit my subscription - not sure what the value add is.
Never understand why people pay to see a band live and then watch it through a 4” screen
Berkshire Hathaway, despite a market value now approaching one quarter of a trillion dollars, is managed from a tiny office with a staff smaller than a soccer team’s starting roster. Buffett is not the slave to a corporate calendar jammed with the humdrum inanities of business life like performance assessments, facilities planning, analyst meetings, compliance training, budget reviews and travel. This leaves him time to read and think so that for Buffett the only real difference between a weekday and the weekend is that for for two days the markets are closed. Buffett is no fan of spreadsheets or reams of analytical mumbo-jumbo. Facts, a pen, a sheet of paper and an agile mind are his tools.
A working style, free of bullshit, to aspire to.
